Things are moving slow, but forward, we resolved our phone problem, so we got our internet back. Looking to switch from Verizon to AT&T for DSL and discounts that will give our hosting.

Plus I don't appreciate Verizon treating my home phone (Landline) like a cellular service it took me over a month to get my service back, and their customer serivce (probably somewhere overseas) didn't help to resolve my issues right away, it was always scripted, and bounced from department to department. So it's a no-brainer.

Next working on the zero issues, Serenade is ready to be texted, Bountyhunter is taking the most time becuase of the smaller panels, and there's so much that wasn't done, so I'm having to go in and redo all that. Oh well.

The revamp of the site is going well I put up the new home page, it's working well, the fonts aren't coing out the way I want them, that's because the font I want all 'puters don't have so, I've got find alternatives. and the graphic for the store doesn't come up right away (think that pre-load info's missing), the load time seems to be a bit long, but that shouldn't hurt.

I think the new look suits us take a look www.kissmecomix.com/index3.html also, having problems getting the forum up, but I'll get in time, looking fot that to boost numbers and generate interest in what we do and stimulate ads.

Entry for January 14, 2008

New Year and things are hopping! Enemi hopefully after tomorrow will hook up with Wizzard Magazine in which we will get full support with them through the catalog, and a possible tour with the cons and suche.

The catalog has gone out to at least 2 newsstand servcies in New York City and hopefully that's generate some business for us.

That bring us to now!

Where we have to redo the 0 issue of Serenade and Bpuntyhunter, they came out blurry, so we have to do them over, and with what we know now they will come out better than before.

Money's still an issue, but hopefully with all that's going on, we'll be able to get ads and revenue, plus with the update of the website new fresh look, and some improvements, should genreat the traffic need to lure web advertising.

I feel proud of how far we've come since we launched in 2000 we can see how we've done and improved. And to those who thought we wouldn't be here. WELL HERE WE ARE, AND WE AREN'T GOING AWAY!

ALL WE EVER ASKED FOR is for people to see us for what we are. We are Kiss Me Comix, not Marvel, DC, Image, or Dark Horse, not even Devil's Due who is transplanted. We are who we are, and damn proud of it!

SAD Christmas

This X-mas will be a sad one,

This will be the first without my mon bein on this earth. It has been very hard to keep a happy face. I've been trying for my eldest daughter, she turn 16 on X-mas.

With all the money problems we've been having since August, plus working late nights at my job has put a serious strain on our marriage, practically to the point of seperating or divorce. My employers don't care, they lied to us saying that they would find somebody to do late nights. Then, we don't get any compensation (pay shift differential) for that either. It's been years since I've had a raise, and doesn't look like I'm going to get one anytime soon.

I pray to God that KMC will hit the groung running next year when Enemi' s catalogs hit the streets next year, plus if they can expand on the news stands hooking in, the we should be alright.

Time for me to up my game as far as art and inking, ect.

Plus we're revamping the site, adding new things to the site maybe even a forum where folks can talk shop without hidden agendas.

If we can get sponsors to push things along in the  books and on the site, we can move along in the right direction. I'm ready for the next level where instead of getting a few hundred people,  we get a few thousand, and KMC becomes my JOB

Entry for November 6, 2007

It has been a LOOOONG while since I did anything with this, but it's time that I got back to it!

Well, my our Mom passed away April 18, 2007 from cancer. She was our light and after all this time we all are hurting. She told us life must go on,  I wish she told us how. We all miss her.

Since then we've done the following cons : I-Conn(Iowa), National Comic Book Expo (Toronto), and Da Black Age X (Chicago)  we've did great at all of them. Got  books into the hands of a lot of new readers. And made a few bucks as well. Last year con-wise we made the most money ever, Thanks to us selling a lot of Barbara's  artwork, (most original prints). This is year is second.

Serenade #9  I thought would be the rage of the summer, not too many comics show a rape scence in total nudity, but not even so much as a shocked eyebrow. I really hyped the $^%^&^$##@^ out of it, and basically showed all that I could on the forums without having the stuff pulled. Next time, I see that I will have to be outright blunt, cause being mysterious, and cryptic doesn't work.

This year Barbara my beloved spouse has really come through, Completeing Serenade #9, and she bought for all of our books, the ISBN so now we can get into any bookstore, including Google and Amazon, which is part of the requirement of our new distributor, Enemi Entertainment.

They have contacted us, and we accepted, we have use their printer, but big deal, that doesn't stop us from doing how we do things and the program is self contained where all have to do is produce! They have put their money where their mouth is, by getting a newsstand service to pre-order books for next year! God-willing, we will be setting pretty for next year! With official releases of all our books , and those who have our original print copies, will have true collectors items.  The catalog from Enemi should be going out soon. I pray that all goes well.

In the meantime,  I've been busy getting the files ready for Enemi, which has been no easy task, thanks to Windows updates blowing out my DVD  and CD drives along with my Installer, tool me all summer to figure that out even with Windows' so-called tech support.  But now I've got all that back on-line and my computer's back. As I go, been covnerting them to download so folks who are curious can get them for $1.60.

Also, been talking to a store in Florida called Zaldiva, super-cool place! We're looking at them being an exclusive retailer for that area, they seem pretty receptive to the idea, gotta send them a promo package of what we're taliking about, they seen to have the resources we need to get,  real kick-ass shirts done of our stuff.

Which brings me to where we are at a halt. MONEY! Things have been tight since coming back from Toronto, this year has been bad,  our tax return got held up (through no fault of ours) took us an extra 2 months that held up everything for us. Then MOM. then other things that were supposed to happen to releave our debt didn't happen. So right now we're hurting! In order to  get some revenue, we created some pretty unique ad programs, and once again nothing!

It is frustrating seeing that we are one of the most prolific indy-comic producers out there Serenade (10 iss), Boutyhunter (7), Excessive Force (3), Lynx(2) Spectrum (2) with another3-4 new titles lined up for 2008. Just because we don't have Diamond stamped on our backside, or we aren't part of the mainstream folks don't want to be bothered! That is not fair!  Our books are being sold,  they aren't laying around gathering dust, no we don't have  at 10,000 copy print run, we do have hundreds of copies in people's hands, and WHEN ENEMI kicks off, we'll have the proof that our books move!

We know it because we are the ones pushing them! If one person would actually take a look at the numbers we've done over the last 7 years we've been consistent granted they are hundreds of thousands of dollars, but our numbers shows the poetential that KMC can achieve!

Lastly, looking at converting our books to animated web TV our video (the first 15 minutes) has over 1,700 views with alomost 60 subscribers, so that lets us know if we did people would view it, and we could run and sell spots within.  We are looking at the big picture and we will get there. One step at at time.

Entry for December 20, 2006

Today I'm fortunate to be able to post this blog entry. I had emergency surgery December 14th to repair a hernia that was trapped and started to strangle my bowel.

God is good, now that I look back, I probably was in trouble as early as that Sunday with this, but I basically blew off the pain. The surgeon told me if a had delayed any later, it would have ruptured, an I would be dead.

My Christmas gift came early
